WTPSM

White Trash Per Square Mile: this is an unofficial statistic used in states that contain densely populated urban centers surrounded by swaths of 'country folk' who drive pick-up trucks and like to tail-gate, swaddle both lanes, and cut off Subarus. WTPSM is often used in traffic and housing statistics and is often cited in explaining why there are no local Starbucks or Whole Foods for damn near a hundred miles!
In trying to make determinations on why there are a disproportionate number of traffic accidents on country roads, DOTs in Oregon, Wisconsin and even Texas often cite the higher levels of WTPSM as a factor.
