Someone who has a lot of red flags and is usually difficult to get along with.

Catapult Nightmare

A rare phenomenon where a person uncontrollably bolts upright in bed and screams at the top of their lungs during the climax of a horrible nightmare. The nightmare in question almost, if not always involves the dreamer in a scary situation where they are about to be killed while also being completely helpless to stop it. But just when the unfortunate dreamer is killed/is about to be killed, the phenomenon occurs. Bonus points if it's a lucid dream.

In one episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon experiences a catapult nightmare when he has a vivid dream where Santa Claus appears in his living room and is about to kill him with a giant cannon as revenge for a ridiculous comment he made in a roleplay earlier that day that involved giving Santa a very hard kick in his "Bowl full of jelly" and feeding him to ogres.

As soon as Santa lights the fuse on the cannon, Sheldon wakes up and immediately positions himself upright while screaming for Leonard, and the episode ends.

Nightmare Olympics

10 medals in Track and Field events for men's track, as many as Kenya's total number of medals for all events in both sexes, is not a nightmare Olympics. The media and people saying that is semi American are the half hearted ones, the track and field teams gave it their all and finished their Olympics with something to smile about.

For most countries, 10 medals would be a dream come true, not a Nightmare Olympics. In a pandemic with more time away from training and families than any other Olympics the United States participated in, not to mention hardly any veterans/leadership/teammates from past Olympics, 10 medals for men's track and field is special in it's own way.

Philosopher's Nightmare

Any time you're witnessing a conversation spiral downwards and are able to identify the rhetorical techniques participants are fueling the descent with little hope of being able to recover from. Techniques include cherry-picking, generalizing, the moral high ground, appealing to fear or popularity, aggressive (including passive) behavior, explicit bias and persistent rambling with an intent to win over the other side. That post on Facebook about gun control became a Philosopher's Nightmare with most of the participants attacking and distracting each other.
