Club Scout – usually a fraternity pledge or other lowly entrant, who is tasked the demeaning job of making a solo run to check out strip clubs and other venues for more senior members for future party spots

Scotty Pimpin' -- an allusion to CDR Montgomery Scott of Star Trek meaning to exergerate needs so that when you come in underbudget and undertime, you look good for the effort; to bluff

James was just Scotty Pimpin' when he said the job would take two weeks and cost 10k, so when he was done in ten days, spending 6k, he looked good and got the promotion.
