pulling a Schrodinger

Making a half-sarcastic comment to a group of people that can be rebuked as sarcasm/banter if unappreciated, or just as easily allowed to slide if it's appreciated.

The name is derived from the famous Schrödinger's cat experiment, a demonstration of the concept of quantum superposition. 'The cat in this box is either dead or alive, and we have no way of knowing for certain until we open the box...'

1: "Mark just made a joke about women's rights. He's uh... he's being sarcastic, though, right...?"
2: "That guy is just pulling a Schrodinger to gauge the overall social climate here. See that? The douche just took it right back!"
1: "Damn..."

The bread pudding effect

When you make a recipe for your friends or family that turns out a bit *too* good. They then associate you with said recipe and insistently demand that you make it for them at as many special occasions as possible. It can become very annoying very quickly.

Named after a dessert called bread pudding, praised for its simplicity and incredible flavor.

1: "UUGHHH! I hate the bread pudding effect!"
2: "Uh... what?"
1: "I made some bread pudding for my sister's birthday party last week. It turned out incredibly well, but now it's all she ever talks about with me! She keeps asking me to make more of it for her and asking me to bring some to more events and... ugh, it's so annoying."
2: "Bread pudding is indeed really quite nice! Ya know... you could probably persuade her to pay you for more of it in the future."
1: "That-- ...that's not a bad idea, actually. Hm!"

bread pudding

A dessert consisting of chunks of stale bread soaked in a sweet custard mixture before being baked. Often paired with a thick vanilla sauce. Despite the strange concept, it's a very easy dessert to make with often disproportionately delicious end results. Be warned, however: if you make this recipe for an event, its attendees WILL start hounding you to make more and more of it for them in the future. It's just that good.

I made some white chocolate bread pudding for my mom's birthday party last week, and it turned out really good! So good, in fact, that now people won't stop talking about it with me...

Good Source Of Vitamins

A term for any article of food, typically snack foods, that has a significant amount of sugar in it, around 50% your daily value's sugar per serving size.

Upon the box of poptarts read a small but prevalent line of text at the front: "good source of vitamins and minerals!" A simple tactic to distract careless buyers from daring to read the nutrition facts on the back and find the dark secrets buried just below the surface...

Tabularasaness

The quality of being new to a craft and not having learned the conventions and tropes of it, making it very easy for one to start experimenting with it without getting bogged down in the finer details as veterans of such crafts often will. Applies mostly to the arts, such as drawing and music production. Derived from the term tabula rasa, Latin for 'blank slate', representing the idea of one's mind being a blank slate ready to be populated with new information.

"I used to do art all the time, but delving into all the art meta killed all that tabularasaness that was keeping me going. Now my creative drive is running on fumes if anything at all. It's really depressing."

Parapsychology

1. The study of paranormal entities, such as ghosts. Commonly used in fiction.
2. A type of front-line psychology involving heavy retrospect and scientific thought. Commonly employed by individuals with depression and anxiety, either supplementing or in lieu of professional psychiatric care.

Bulldog

An individual who validates the stereotypes of their associated group/community, usually in a negative way. Initially adopted by furries to describe individuals with behaviors unbecoming of their fandom, such as racism and pedophilia.

user 1: "yeah, user 3 got banned yesterday"
user 2: "holy fuck why"
user 1: "he was being very hateful to some of the server's minority users"
user 2: "what a fucking bulldog; good riddance"
