Group Pull

A process in which an individual or many, either aware or unaware of a perceived or exaggerated association between their group and another, deliberately aligns with the associated group, thereby reinforcing and legitimizing the original perception.
Person 1: did you hear that all cops are racist?
Person 2: that’s a stereotype that promotes racists to become cops, it’s a group pull
