When two people agree to go out with eachother. It is like going steady except is not exclusive. Both people are allowed to go with (make out) with other people, if they wish. It is not suited to some people but it is great for those who don't want to limit themselves to one person but still would like to go out with them. It is sometimes known as "going casual".

Timmy: So what did you think of last night?

Jake: Oh it was great! I went with 4 girls.

Timmy: But aren't you and Angela going out?

Jake: Oh, we're only facing. We both didn't want to tie ourslelves down to one person, so we decided to face.
