Get the Ratchet mug.Ratchet is a sentient alien robot (commonly known as a Transformer, or a Cybertronian) from the planet Cybertron. He was introduced in "The Transformers: Generation 1" (1984), and was originally going to be a female. He is a medic, and named after Nurse Ratched. (from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)
Many of people have voiced him
G1 Ratchet was voiced by Don Messick (RIP), and Wally Burr in one episode
Jack Merluzzi in the Transformers game
Animated Ratchet was voiced by Corey Burton
In the Movie and War For Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron Games, Ratchet was voiced by Fred Tatasciore
In the Cyber Missions, he was voiced by Bronco Jackson
Prime Ratchet was voiced by Jeffery Combs
In the live action movies, Ratchet is voiced by Robert Foxworth
In the fandom, he is known for having a grouchy attitude and also throws either a scanner or tool (usually a wrench) when pissed. Tends to curse quite a lot as well.
This grouchy attitude becomes cannon in Transformers Animated, and makes a return in Transformers Prime.
He is usually red/rust orange and white with blue eyes, though the exception being the Micheal Bay movies in which he is a lime yellow/lime green. Fans still fight over this, though he seems to appear as both depending if it's games based on the movies, or the movies themselves.
He always takes the form of an ambulance, the only exception being the Micheal Bay movies in which he is a hummer. (Though seems to be modified to be some form of an ambulance)
