I feel bad for that Phillies fan. He is filled with false hope.

Implicit false dichotomy

We're seeing a lot of that recently in the discourse around "Victimhood"

Hym "And how it works is basically like this: So-and-so will sarcastically say 'Well this person is clearly a victim.' And what they are insinuating is that the person is 'acting as though they are a victim even though they are are not.' This creates the implicit false dichotomy between 'People who act like victims' and 'People who don't.' The former are 'The bad ones' and the latter are 'The good ones.' Sound familiar? Falsely Elevated Status

You don't have a status.

Or do you think it's the people who think they have some kind of extra special status that makes them COSMICLY DESERVING OF HAVING? Like, they think they have some kind of MERIT that others lack that makes them MORE DESERVING of having the things they have than those who don't. It SOUNDS LIKE you're just trying to pin words with negative connotations to you political enemies to make them seem less sympathetic. Like, if they're 'bitter' or 'resentful' then it SOMEHOW entirely de-legitimizes their position. That isn't reality. The truth of a proposition isn't contingent on the emotional state of the person positing the proposition. I mean, if you're like me and DON'T BELIEVE IN FUCKING 'STATUSES' then 'STATUS' ITSELF is 'Falsely elevated status.' Like, you don't have it, Jordan. You don't have a status. Habitual false confirmation bias

The tendency for an individual to wrongly come to a conclusion, largely due to that individuals obsession with a specific item or idea.

Danny states "Product X is only available on Apple IPhones, therefore Iphones are better." When in reality, Danny has an unhealthy obsession with Apple products and is rejecting the obvious signs that androids are better products. Danny is committing habitual false confirmation bias.
