Abyssal Void Hypothesis

The ultimate cosmic shrug: the theory that everything—all matter, energy, laws of physics, and your crippling existential dread—sprang from and will eventually collapse back into a fundamental, primordial nothingness. This isn't just empty space; it's the active, generative Void, the blank canvas before the paint, the silence before the note. It's the source code of reality where logic and causality themselves are just temporary applications. The hypothesis suggests our universe is a temporary fluctuation, a brief pattern of something interesting happening in an eternal, indifferent Abyss that doesn't care we're here and will inevitably forget we ever were.
Example: "My therapist asked about my nihilism. I explained the Abyssal Void Hypothesis: 'The universe is a campfire in an infinite, cold desert. The flames—stars, life, love—are beautiful, but they're just a temporary arrangement of wood borrowed from the desert. The fire will die, the wood will return to sand, and the desert, which was always there, won't even notice the warmth is gone.' She billed me for the hour but wrote 'existential' in her notes."
