Why was it chosen? It is said that, long ago around 1900's when people were using typewriters at the time, people typed WAY too fast (with the abcdef.. layout, as in, the alphabet) and the typewriter's keyboard would break. Because of this, the original maker of the typewriter decides to make the typewriter's keyboard layout"QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZXCVBNM" to prevent people from typing too fast, therefore they will have to look at the keyboard before typing.
