I copied this entry and I am only adding what I believe the origin to be: ~1985-1987 Brian S (me) was talking to someone and accidentally said trashed when I tried to say thrashed. It caught on fairly quickly and was used around me for years after that. It meant wasted.

Trying to gaslight publicly on a large scale to take credit for accomplishments of others or fake diseases or other sob stories. Usually 'Trash Lighting' is used to get laid, make money through go-fundme, or get out of a good old fashion ass beating.

Muerto Trash is an umbrella term for multiple cultures such as white trash, or naco, but without clear racial barriers. But not every trailer trash is muerto trash, muerto, meaning death, or dead in this case in Spanish signifies a macabre humor in being a dead man walking.

TL;DR: The belief that you're "dead" until you prove you're a live wire.
