Gay Discount

The queer discount or gay discount is an unofficial discount occasionally given to queer individuals by another member of the LGBTQ+ community. Often the queer cashier will “forget” to ring up an item, or ring up a discount or cheaper item. It is best practice to make sure this is not a genuine mistake however, and double check the price and the items with the cashier before leaving.

“When the cashier recognized I was gay too, I got a gay discount on those art supplies! They “forgot” to ring up my paints!”

“What’s the gay discount?”

“It’s when a queer cashier recognizes another queer person, and gives them a discount on what they’re getting, purely because they like their vibes!”

The discounts and rewards you get to take advantage of because you need to read the menu ahead and see pictures to make your decision and you hate speaking to people more than necessary so you exclusively order food through mobile apps.
