Rink Rat

A child who spent a majority of their childhood at the roller rink consistently for a number of years. These children were speed skaters, jam skaters, figure skaters, rhythm skaters and made friends at the rink. They are friendly with Good Energy and have nothing but love for the art of skating and other skaters.

Rink Rats are who kept roller rinks alive by being there every weekend.

rat's arse

A rat's arse is usually something you don't give. So, if someone says "I don't give a rat's arse!" it's just another way of saying "I couldn't care less!" or "I don't give a fuck!"

However, it is possible to give a rat's arse, too. Many years ago a meteorological (Met) colleague working at an Antarctic base opened a crate of equipment that had been shipped to the base many months previous. Inside was the severed body of a dead rat. The rear end was put on display somewhere together with the sign: "Who gives a rat's arse? Met do!"

Drag rats

A slur for homeless people in Austin, Texas who spend time on Guadalupe Street between 21st and 29th Street, colloquially known as "The Drag". Used mainly by college kids and people on the wealthier side to emotionally justify cruelty towards those already experiencing terrible hardship.

"Ugh, look at those disgusting drag rats begging for food. I wouldn't even piss on one of them if they caught fire."

"I hate drag rats so much, they smell terrible and are sometimes rude. I don't understand why the cops let them stay here."
