white lady

A type of ghost found in the folklore of many countries, usually depicted as a woman in white clothing. Such are often associated with rural areas and often revolve around a tragic local legend, usually involving accidental death, murder, and/or suicide. Common themes of such legends may include, but are not restricted to loss, betrayal by a spouse and/or fiancee, and unrequited love.
