An individual who transitions their gender to gain an unfair advantage over the opposite gender. This term originated in the gaming community, where proficient players, having reached their skill ceiling, create new accounts known as smurfs to compete against beginners and derive a sense of accomplishment from their victories.

Lia Thomas is such a smurf.
