cop

A nickname given to policemen. "Cop" is short for "copropheliac", given due to their marked interest in the worst elements (the excrement) of our society, and the things that they tend to trade in.
Watch out, here come the cops! They're looking to confiscate our shit!

Cop speak

A subset of bafflegab intended both to lend glory to mundane events and to obfuscate unethical or violent actions. Examples might include “the alleged perpetrator proceeded in a northerly direction via vehicle” for “he drove north”, “sworn members” for “cops”, and “arrested after a brief use-of-force encounter” for “we beat him up”.
The press conference after the shooting was full of the kind of cop speak you’d expect from Public Affairs.

Cop crow

A cop car, usually highway state patrol, that sits empty on the side of the highway with it's lights off. Akin to a scare crow to scare crows away from the crop, a cop crow scares civilians into compliance with the speed limit to deter speeding.
I was speeding on the 15 north until I noticed a cop car and slowed down then when I realized that it was a cop crow, I sped back up.

flirting with a cop

Being pulled over; interrogation by a cop; unexpected rear view flashing lights; irrational ticket violation.

•If you are driving and a cop pulls you over for nothing out of the ordinary.

•If a cop gives an irrational reason for pulling you over; such as:
- "I didn't see your seatbelt."
- "You didn't use your blinker before turning."
- "You were just about 5mph over the speed limit."
- "I noticed you turned a little too fast around that corner."
• I was on my way home before I was pulled over to flirt with a cop.
• Just flirted with a cop trying to drive to work.
• I didn't expect to be flirting with a cop for not fully stopping at a stop sign.
• Just flirted with a cop for not using my blinker! But he thankfully gave me a warning for such a minor mistake.
