baseball statistics

A group of many different things used to compare baseball players. This can range from batting average, Homeruns and Strikeouts to advanced statistics such as WAR, OPS, and VORP.
Person 1: "That player struck out again! He sucks!!"
Person 2: " While me might not have done well today, when you look at the player's Baseball statistics, he's actually a pretty good player."

A number compared to another or several other numbers
Example one :
Person 1: here's a statistic i found on the FBI website :13% of the population commits 50% of all violent crime
Person 2: Based ! i will show this to Tyrone

Example two:
Person 1: I found a statistic online ! Jews are 2% of the US population but also 26% of the elite (meaning actors, producers, directors, and anything else related to Hollywood, journalists, CEO of big businesses, multimillionaires and billionaires). ain't that crazy

Statistical Question

Any question that can be represented by data on a graph. A Non-Statistical Question is a question that CANNOT be represented by any data and can be simply answered.
For instance, a Statistical Question would be:
How many minutes does a typical sixth grader read each day?
This is a Statistical Question because, it can be represented by data telling how many minutes a sixth grader spends reading each day.
Non-Statistical Question:
What is your best friend’s favorite TV show?
This is a Non-Statistical Question because, it can be simply answered and doesn’t need any data to tell or represent what your best friend’s favorite TV show is.
