Bishonen Jump Syndrome

Bishonen Jump Syndrome is what has most rampantly happened to Shonen Jump itself in the long run, having only grown bigger with the insane long term popularity of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga anthology series.

It’s likely thanks to Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya that Bishonen Jump Syndrome has only become more obvious throughout the history of Shonen Jump, although it’s not always there until Kinnikuman slowly grew a queer following throughout its original run.

Mao Lamdo Walk

A Mao Lamdo Walk is what happens when a pulp hero like Tarzan walks around like a boss. Named for the late Mao Lamdo, who popularised it for the theme song to the anime adaptation of Cobra.

Tarzan has done a Mao Lamdo Walk in many post-1950s adaptations, starting with the Gold Key comics adaptations and popularised internationally by the Disney version of the character.

Itanopunk

Itanopunk is a hybridisation between Ichiro Itano’s notoriously dizzy Itano circus style of directing and various punk aesthetics, more often Skate Punk, Surfpunk and Steampunk Samurai.

Though a longtime mainstay of many anime shows like the 2 Astro Boy tv adaptations in colour, Itanopunk still is strongly also associated with the Groovival and Heisei Retro aesthetics.
