Father’s Day in a Pandemic

When the most important day of the year for millions of earthly fathers in pre-pandemic days is already low key or an almost a non-event, unlike Mother’s Day that looks more like a year long affair— Father’s Day has taken a back seat in human or family relationship during this coronavirus crisis, when eating or dining out is forbidden in many parts of the world that are experiencing their second, third, or fourth wave.
This year, ironically or sadly speaking, in a number of liberal countries, Father’s Day in a pandemic is being celebrated in homes where the child is looked after by two dads rather than one—it’s Fathers’ Day, or Father’s Day 2.0, that would test the moral or social fabric of Generation Y or Z in coming decades.

Mask Therapy

When someone deliberately uses masks to ignite their creativity, such as donning a face mask while venturing in the wilderness or in an open air surrounding, with no one around, in the hope of getting some novel ideas for a project, or of experiencing an aha to a wicked problem.
After being stuck for weeks with an unsolved math problem, Prof. Dean decided to go for a mask therapy, by trekking some off-campus mountainous region, and hoping to be rewarded with some insight during the trip.

Yoga

A Hindu form of breathing exercise, which includes meditation and spiritual practices, whose allegedly “protective” properties could shield someone from the coronavirus—a pseudoscientific cure promoted by no other than nationalistic Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and his gang of “corona gurus.”
Just as the American ex-president promoted disinfectants and UV light as corona cures to his millions of diehard supporters, the Indian prime minister is now touting yoga as a spiritual cure against Covid-19 and the deadlier “Delta” variant to his hardcore BJP supporters.

Covid-⍺

Read as “Covid-alpha.” Also known as the B.1.1.7 or “Alpha” variant. The UK or Kent variant is believed to be the second deadliest variant after the India variant to sweep across a number of countries—however, alpha patients are more than twice less likely to be hospitalized than their delta counterparts.
Covid-⍺, which is estimated to be 40%–80% more transmissible than Covid-19, is

believed to be more infectious because it contains mutations that make it better adapted to evade the immune system, thus allowing it to replicate and potentially find new hosts.

Psalm 2

The second book of Psalms warns both nations and rulers of two choices: defy God and perish, or depend on Him and prosper—those who are against Christ, God’s Anointed, will be frustrated and crushed, but those who surrender to Him and serve Him can rejoice with trembling.
If only nations, groups, and individuals that are against Christ and hell-bent to harming or destroying Christians and Jews worldwide grasp the meaning of Psalm 2, they’d know that their words and curses and actions would only lead them to more physical or financial pain and suffering, spiritual confusion, and eternal condemnation—those who defy God and His Kingdom in Jesus Christ would be broken, but those who surrender to Him would be blessed.

Trumpgami

The Japanese art of folding a square paper, with orange on one side and white on the other side, into a shape that resembles the Pinocchio-in-Chief.
A number of Trumpublican math educators in some red states are planning a Trumpgami Contest on Pi Day to remember the “educational contributions” of their one-term, twice-impeached, thrice-married ex-president, whose signature helped revoke Common Core Math in their schools.

CEO

Short for “Corona Executioner Officer.” A right-wing oft-inept head of state or dictator who threatens to jail anyone who refuses to get a jab due to the country’s high infection and fatality rates but low vaccination rate.
With a pathetic vaccination rate of 1.91% for Philippines’s population of 110 million, CEO Rodrigo Duterte is fed up with the tortoise take-up rate of his people turning up for a shot.
