Use Your Bible and Your Brain

The advice preached by some fringe American pastors to their congregations with regard to mask wearing and vaccination, who claim that Covid-19 is a “fake pandemic” and that they themselves would not take a vaccine—and that Donald J. Trump won the 2020 presidential election by a landslide, who would be re-elected as the President of the United States, be it in 2020, 2024, 2028, or even later (after serving his reduced jail sentence, commuted by the President of the day).

A conservative pastor from Tennessee, who is probably scientifically challenged, told his faithful uncritical church members: “Don’t trust the fake media, but use your Bible and your brain to decide whether you want to wear a mask or get vaccinated.”

Trumpific

A word that notoriously or terrifically describes the manifold lies and white lies uttered or tweeted by Donald J. Trump during his four years as a head of state, which is beyond human dishonesty to say the least.

Don’s performance while in office has been so trumpific to the extent that any future inept or corrupt president would be hard-pressed to match his ever-low unethical index.

The Dodo Is Alive!

When some Trumpists-turned-QAnonists still stranded on the volcanic island of Mauritius—who needed to concoct a half-believe story to gain public attention so that they could fly back home—told the locals that they spotted a big bird that resembled the flightless dodo in the middle of the night, when the country was still on lockdown, thus raising the infinitesimal hope that the Mauritian bird, thought extinct, is far from dead.

That “the dodo is alive!” sounds like a modern version of the biblical story of Jesus’ raising Lazarus, who had already been in the tomb for four days, from the dead—even if the big bird is long dead, who says that it can’t miraculously be resurrected?

We Are One in Pi.

When math geeks are connected to each other by their shared love for arguably the most beautiful constant in mathematics: π’s beauty, ubiquity, and utility never fail to bring and bond them together.

Just as a number of white racists and supremacists are united by the xenophobic policies of Donald J. Trump, so a number of recreational mathematicians are drawn by the occurrence or presence of pi in the least unexpected places, who love telling the non-math people: “We are one in pi.”

Santa Claus is immune to Covid-19

WHO’s comforting message to millions of anxious children worldwide about Father Christmas to assure them (without proof) that despite his older age they needn’t worry about his health during this pandemic crisis, as he would be able to deliver their presents on Christmas Eve—however, they are reminded that they and Santa Claus must adhere to physical social distancing and must obey their parents to sleep early on December 24.

Because Santa Claus is immune to Covid-19, WHO confirmed that most countries—except those few nations that forbid Christmas because it is an “infidel” or pagan festival—would relax their quarantine rules to enable Santa and his flying reindeer to enter their airspace, so that he could uninterruptedly and unobstructively deliver the presents before December 25.

Trumpole

A dumbass or jerk who refuses to concede defeat to their opponent, but instead gears up for all kinds of mischief or devilry to frustrate and prevent them from moving forward.

The world recently witnessed the undemocratic and idiotic support of a trumpole by 19 Republican state attorney generals and 126 morally corrupt buffoons of Congress, who would likely go down in the history books as an awful bunch of fake and inept lawmakers, who had sold their souls to the devil out of fear for a Pharisee-in-Chief, who is quietly laughing at them for their blind faith in him.

COVID-19 MATH

Math questions that leverage on the coronavirus pandemic—lockdowns, infections, deaths, face masks, social distancing measures, stimulus packages, tax rebates, rent reliefs, vaccines, and the like—to hone students’ problem-solving or guesstimation skills.

Two Covid-19 math questions are:

1. After parking their cars, 317 Trump supporters took a bus instead of walked to the rally. Each bus can hold 28 passengers. How many buses were needed to ferry them?
2. Eric and Don each have a certain number of face masks. If Eric gave Don five masks, Don would have twice as many masks as him. If Don gave five masks to Eric, they each would have the same number of masks. How many face masks does each brother have? Answer: Eric: 25, Don: 35.
